Two massive games will take place across Europe this Sunday as Inter Milan take on AC Milan at the San Siro in the Milan derby whilst Marseille visit Ligue 1 leaders PSG in what will prove to be two very exciting matches.
Inter Milan vs AC Milan
AC Milan will go into the derby full of confidence after beating Barcelona 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16. They currently sit third in Serie A, level with Lazio, 11 points behind Juventus, who lead at this current stage and 7 points behind second placed Napoli. The win against Barca on Wednesday night extended Milan’s unbeaten record to a respectable seven games, of which they have won five. On the other hand, Inter will also be feeling confident as they have just progressed to the next round of the Europa League with a 5-0 aggregate win over CFR Cluj. They are slightly further down the table in fifth place, but they are just a single point behind Lazio and more importantly AC Milan. Inter will need to improve their consistency though as they have only won half of their last six games. It is safe to say that Mario Balotelli will be raring to go this weekend, having sat out of the Barcelona game due to being cup-tied and it is highly possible that he could score against his former club. There will be everything to play for on the Sunday, however, as an Inter win would lift them above AC Milan in the table, whilst the latter will be trying to shorten the gap between the two clubs above them as much as possible.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Marseille
Over in France, PSG welcome Marseille to their Parc des Princes ground. The Ligue 1 table-toppers lead with a slender three point margin but deserve to be there after going an incredible fourteen games unbeaten. This was expected, however, due to their new team of expensive new stars including Zlatan Ibrahimovich, Lucas Moura and Ezequiel Lavezzi. Only a shock 3-2 defeat away to Sochaux on Sunday has prevented them adding another game to that run. David Beckham may finally make his debut for the club after signing from LA Galaxy in January and will obviously make the headlines despite his performance should he play. Marseille are currently in third place, a mere five points behind PSG so a win could be crucial. Just like Inter though, they are inconsistent and have also only won three of their last six games. However, a game of this magnitude in France means anything could happen and there is every possibility that Marseille will upset the odds and come out of the game as winners.
