25.11.2013. What a weekend in the Premier League. Arsenal move 4 points clear at the top after the Merseyside derby ended in a draw. ManCity trash Tottenham with 6:0. Liverpool draw against Everton at the Goodison Park.
Arsenal moved sensationally 4 points clear ahead of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City. Wilshire and co clearly dominated Southampton at the Emirates Stadium. Olivier Giroud scored in the 22nd and in the 86th minute after Jose Fonte was penalised for pulling Per Mertesacker‘s shirt. Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey also hit the post. The Gunners Arsenal still maintain a 100% record at home at the Emirates Stadium.
Manchester City absolutely took Tottenham apart and showed their slick attack. It was the highest defeat for Tottenham since 1996. Villas-Boas said: “We have to be ashamed of ourselves, and react to a defeat like this.” Manchester City started scoring after only 14 seconds by Navas and was followed with goals by a Sandro own goal, Aguero (41st and 50th) and Negredo (55th) and Navas (90th). Tottenham are now 9th in the table, 8 points behind leader Arsenal.
Manchester United wasn’t able to secure 3 points against Cardiff after leading twice against the Walsh team. Rooney (15th) and Evra (45th) scored for United. Cardiff equalised after goals by Fraizer Campbell (33rd) and Kim (90th). Wayne Rooney was at the centre of controversy when he received only a caution for kicking Jordon Mutch before scoring with a deflected strike. The Red Devils are now 6th in the table with 21 points, 7 points behind the Gunners.
Liverpool drew against Everton with 3:3 at the Goodison Park in one of the most exciting Merseyside Derbies in the last years. Liverpool went ahead twice after goals by Coutinho (5th) and Suarez (19th), but Everton was a great opponent. The host equalised twice and took a late lead after goals by Mirallas (8th) and Lukaku (72nd and 82nd). Sturridge equalized in the 89th minute. Liverpool remains 4 points behind Arsenal.
