Ireland Autumn Internationals Tickets 2014

The Autumn International Rugby Union matches are only months away, with Ireland taking on two Southern Hemisphere heavyweights, amongst a fixture against an ever improving Eastern European nation in Dublin. Ireland vs South Africa on Saturday, November 8th at 5:45pm at the Aviva Stadium

The last time these two nations met on Irish soil, the Springboks fought back from a 12-3 half time deficit to win 12-16. Ulster’s South African import Ruan Pienaar grabbed the only try, along with three penalties from Patrick Lambie to condemn the Irish to defeat. Much has changed since that day in 2012 as New Zealander Joe Schmidt has replaced Declan Kidney as Ireland Coach, and he inspired the team to a Six Nations Title after the last game win over France in Paris. The fixture against South Africa will be a tough assignment for Schmidt’s side as they can call upon numerous World class players including Bryan Habana, Jean De Villiers, Willie Le Roux, Morne Steyn and Ruan Pienaar amongst many others. The hosts will be desperate to beat the Springboks and get their three game series off to a great start, so tickets are sure to be in high demand for the Aviva Stadium on the 8th November.

Ireland vs Georgia on Saturday, November 15th at 5:45pm at the Aviva Stadium

The second game of the series for the Irish is a potential banana skin as they welcome Georgia to the Aviva Stadium. These two nations have met three times with Ireland coming out on top in all of them, and scoring twenty tries to three in the process. The Georgians however are an ever improving outfit with numerous members of their squad playing in France and England, such as Toulon’s Mamuka Gorgodze, Sale Sharks hooker Shalva Mamukashvili, and Toulouse prop Vasil Kakovin amongst others. Rugby Union is now Georgia’s national sport and their international side is getting better all the time. They are currently managed by former Glasgow and Scotland Coach Ritchie Dixon, whilst he is assisted by the ex-Ireland international Michael Bradley, to give Georgia a good coaching pedigree. Whist Ireland will be heavy favourites, the visitors will be hugely motivated to cause an upset, and show exactly how far they have improved in the last few years.

Ireland vs Australia on Saturday, November 22nd at 5:45pm at the Aviva Stadium

Ireland’s last fixture is against Australia and the hosts will be looking for revenge after last year’s 15-32 defeat at the Aviva Stadium. The Wallabies produced a good second half performance that night to run out winners, so will be confident of replicating that in November. The Australians have a squad packed with brilliant players such as former Queensland Rugby League and Australian Rules star Israel Folau, along with Adam Ashley-Cooper, Quade Cooper, and Will Genia amongst many others. This will be another great game and like the whole series, it will be worth paying for a ticket to be there at the Aviva Stadium.

Ireland – Autumn Internationals 2013

Ireland will welcome Samoa, Australia and New Zealand to their Aviva Stadium home later this year as the 2013 Guinness Series gets underway on the 9th November 2013. All three opponents are great Rugby Union sides so expect some very entertaining games over the course of the Series.

Ireland v Samoa – Saturday, 9th November 2013

Ireland host Samoa in the opening game of the series on Saturday 9th November at 17:45pm and it promises to be an exciting start to the series. Samoa have risen to seventh in the IRB World Rankings and have been known to put in some fantastic performances, such as the demolition of RBS 6 Nations Champions Wales last November. The two sides have met five times overall with Ireland losing just once. Last November when the two sides met, Ireland prevailed 20-10 winners against the Samoans. The man to watch from the South Sea Islands team is Alesana Tuilagi, brother of England’s Manu, who is a very strong winger with a good blend of pace and power.

Ireland v Australia – Saturday, 16th November 2013

Next up sees Australia visit the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 16th November for another 17:45pm kick off. The Wallabies are currently ranked third in the world and are a fantastic team to watch. They will be a fresh side after their summer test series against the British and Irish Lions. Over thirty meetings, Ireland have only managed nine wins, with twenty defeats and one draw. The last time the two sides played each other was in the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and Ireland won 6-15 in a tight game. Australia boast many great players amongst their ranks such as fly-half Kurtley Beale, veteran lock Nathan Sharpe, full-back Adam Ashley-Cooper and winger Drew Mitchell.

Ireland v New Zealand – Sunday, 24th November 2013

Ireland host New Zealand in the final game of the series on Sunday 24th November at 14:00. This will be an extremely tough game for the home side as the All Blacks are the current World Champions and therefore ranked first in the world. They are one of if not the most feared teams in World rugby. Ireland have never won a game against New Zealand, drawing once and losing twenty-six times but they will be looking to change this in front of their adoring fans. Last time they met, Ireland were thumped 60-0, failing to score a single point. It is impossible to know where to start when talking about New Zealand’s players as there is quality throughout. Players include hooker Keven Mealamu, prop Tony Woodcock, scrum-half Piri Weepu, fly-half Dan Carter, centre Ma’a Nonu and flanker Richie McCaw to name but a few!

Venue

The Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, has a capacity of 51,700 and is home of the Irish Rugby Union team and the Republic of Ireland football team. It is a relatively new stadium having opened in 2010 and it looks very impressive with its total of four tiers.

Ireland – Guinness Series – 2012

The Irish tem will play two fixtures in their Guinness Series both fixtures will be held at the relatively ne Aviva stadium. The Irish will be hosts to strong opposition in South Africa and Argentina. In between these two ties the O2 Ireland Wolfhounds will battle it out against Fiji at Thomond Park Stadium as part of the series.

Ireland v South Africa – November 10th, 2012

The first of Ireland’s two fixtures sees them host the Springboks at the Aviva stadium – home of Irish rugby. The rivalry with South Africa goes back to 1906. Since then, South Africa dominated most meetings.  The last time these two met at the Aviva was back in 2010 where South Africa narrowly won 23-21 in a terrific encounter. Hopefully there can be a repeat of that and the Aviva will get to see another entertaining display. Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll and his team are motivated to face the Springboks.

Ireland v Argentina – November 24th, 2012

The final game of the Guinness Series will see Ireland take on the Argentineans at the Aviva stadium. Ireland, currently ranked 7th in the IRB World Rankings will face Argentina, currently number 8th in the Rankings. Both teams faced each other 12 times so far with Ireland winning 7 of those meetings. Ireland won comfortably the last meeting back in 2010 with 29-9 at the Aviva stadium and will without a doubt be favourites to end the series on a high in front of the home crowd.
