On Sunday was the draw for the next round of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) and Saskia Bartusiak was the lucky won that picked the games in the draw. She plays for 1.FFC Frankfurt and is a player of the German Women’s National team.
Luckily, all the top team managed to avoid each other, which will make it interesting further down the line. However, the games she picked are the following: Defending champion Borussia Dortmund will face Hannover 96 in the round of the last 16. BVB coach Klopp will be happy wiht that draw. Record champion Bayern Munich will travel to league rival and relegation candidate – FC Augsburg. A great derby in the south of Germany.
The five-time champion, FC Schalke 04 will face FSV Mainz 05, which they beat in the league with 3-0. Another great game will be between VfL Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen. The only two remaining teams from the third division were lucky and dont face a big Bundesliga team. Karlsruher SC meets with SC Freiburg, Kickers Offenbach will play Fortuna Dusseldorf and Greuter Fürth against Union Berlin.
The matches in the round of the last 16 teams will be on December 18th / 19th just before Christmas. The big cup final will take place on June 1st at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
