Carl Froch vs George Groves – Super Middleweight – 2014

12.03.2014 – Carl Froch will once again defend his WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles against fellow Englishman George Groves on the 31st of May at Wembley Stadium, in what will be an eagerly anticipated rematch of their controversial bout back in November.

Carl Froch won the first encounter by stopping George Groves in the ninth round in contentious circumstances, with many believing that the referee halted the fight too soon. George Groves was allegedly winning the bout at that time in what was a great performance by the Londoner in a fight where he was the underdog, so he will be hugely confident of finishing the job in May and becoming a double World title holder.

Carl Froch

Carl Froch meanwhile will also be extremely motivated to win again in May for the same reason as the ‘Cobra’ will feel that he did not produce his best performance last time so will be aiming to show exactly why he is a multiple World Champion at Wembley Stadium. This will be a fight that will break records as it is predicted that it will be the largest attendance ever in Britain for a bout since the post war days, so it could be labelled the biggest boxing event in British history.

George Groves

What makes this contest so absorbing is George Groves shown back in November that he could match Carl Froch while the ‘Cobra’ will feel that he can box substantially better, and will look to make a statement by beating Groves more convincingly at Wembley Stadium. It is the perfect master against the apprentice matchup, as twenty-five year old youngster Groves will be hurt about his only loss on his record coming in the previous encounter, whilst Froch who aged thirty-six will look to cement his fantastic career with a more compelling victory at Wembley Stadium.

No shows booked at the moment.
